Ben! Interactive Expo Workshops

GOAL:

To increase the consumption of USA pears in children, by showing that in addition to being nutritious and healthy, they are fun to enjoy at any time of the day.

IDEA:

We participated in the BEN (Buenos hábitos, Ejercicio y Nutrición, the acronym in Spanish) program, which was endorsed by the Asociación de nutricionistas de Guatemala (ANDEGUAT) (Nutritionists Association of Guatemala), under the campaign motto: Eating healty is fun with Ben!
The Ben! program materials, contents, and methods were supervised and approved by an advisory council of experts comprised by nutritionists, teachers, educational psychologists, communicators, and specialists in nutrition and cooking.
Parents received a brochure with techniques and cooking preparations that were simple, innovative and fun to use at home and encourage healthy and balanced menus.

RESULTS:

The interactive Ben! Expo Workshops reached directly 1,200 children monthly, a grand total of 4,800. This activity had an overall impact on 28,800 people.
